Hi there,
I'm selling my Dachman Audio DA-67 Tube Condenser in excellent / near-mint condition. I bought this new about a year ago and I'm downsizing my mic collection to help finance a larger studio purchase. It's been well cared for in a smoke-free, pet-free home studio, and sounds the same as it did the day I took it out of the box. Right now there's a 2 month production lead time on these - here's a chance to get a practically brand new mic for less and without the wait!
If you've seen ads for this or read the Tape Op review of Dachman's DA-87i, it lives up to its reputation. This really is an amazing sounding mic. Aside from it being a great reproduction of a vintage Neumann U-67, it stands on its own as a new studio go-to. To be honest, it blows the WA mics - and a ton of other mics at this price point - out of the water.
Made with premium components, it has excellent off axis rejection, nearly transparent off-axis coloration, and almost no self-noise. Dachman's doing a great job. The build quality is excellent, and I've never had any issues with it. When I first got it, I immediately preferred it to my Neumann TLM 102 and TLM 103, especially on vocals. I also have the Dachamn DA-87 and definitely prefer the 67 sound, for its warmth and subtly.
Is it a vintage Neumann U-67? No. But with this mic, vocals just sit in a mix, and it sounds amazing on every source I've tried it on, especially bass, kick drum out or a glyn johns floor tom mic, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, cello, violin...This mic punches above its price tag, and its super easy to get a finished take without wasting time messing around with too much EQ and compression. If you're looking for both clarity and warmth, this is your mic. It gets the high end correct, and has a ton of low mids. It also has a very good Lo-cut switch and pad. Like the original U-67, it has 3 switchable polar patterns, and each of them sound excellent. It just gives you that magic tube compression that both tucks in and brings out the character of a source at the same time. You've got to hear it.
Includes the Original Locking Suitcase and Keys, Power Supply, custom 7-Pin Mic Cable, Dachman Shock-Mount, and Swivel-Mount.
