Historical Notes:

The JC-16WE has a solid Sitka spruce top, solid walnut sides, solid walnut two-piece back, single ring rosette with blue Paua pearl and B/W inlay, a black Micarta fingerboard and bridge, gold tuners, Bluestick from Schertler electronics, and an all polished gloss body. These features are the earmarks of the "Premium" version of this model.

The production run for this particular build configuration was 2002-2003. MSRP in 2003 was $2,349.00. After this model was removed from production, Martin did offer it from their custom shop during 2004 through 2005, built to order, starting at $3000.00.

Obviously, this is a rare Martin guitar. Not many of these Walnut Edition, Premium models were made. You hardly ever see one offered on Reverb.

My Ownership Notes:

I purchased this Martin from Professional Music Center in Clive, IA in 2008. I am the 2nd owner.

The walnut sides and back give this guitar a warm sound. She's very comfortable to play. In the 18 years I have owned this guitar, I cannot find any faults. She's had an easy life and the overall condition clearly demonstrates that.

Complete with original issue Martin case. You will notice some mods in the head of the case from trying different hydration methods.

Onboard electronics are hidden from view. There's a volume adjuster in the sound hole. A very clever design.

The identification plate has come off of the interior body. It is included with the purchase, along with the original hang tags.
