Yamaha Hip Gig Sr. Al Foster model drum kit in the highly sought-after and super rare 5-piece configuration. Made in Japan.
Yamaha called this finish "Jaguar", a tortoise-style wrap and one of the most recognizable and rarest finishes from the Hip Gig series, as most kits were White Marine Pearl. The Al Foster model is already uncommon, and the 5-piece setup is especially hard to find.

All toms feature brand new Yamaha BE batter heads, along with the original Yamaha BA resonant-side heads. The bass drum has a Remo Renaissance P3 head on the front, which is what all the original hip gig kits came with, and a coated Ambassador on the batter side.
The kit includes the Yamaha three hole receiver, as well as a single post for setting it up as a four-piece.
The kit is in very nice condition overall, but it has been gigged. The chrome, wrap, and shells are all in excellent condition, and the kit presents very well. It is all original with no modifications.
Please note that there are 3 blemishes inside the bass drum. There are two chips on the nesting edge of the bass drum and a small crack to the inner ply near where the spur is mounted. These issues are somewhat common on these kits, as the nesting design allowed the toms and snare to be stored inside the bass drum for transporting. None of these cosmetic blemishes are visible when the bass drum is together, however the next owner may want to have the inner-ply cracks repaired. Please examine the last 3 photos carefully to see these issues.
