This listing is for a refinished vintage 1980's Sonor "Phonic-Plus" series floor tom.

Sonor offered "Phonic-Plus" series drums with extended shells for added volume and projection.

This drum is unusually tall! It measures 18" in depth x 16" wide. The shell is made up out of nine plies of beechwood and has a natural beech interior.

The exterior was originally covered in a plastic wrap but the pearloid covering was removed and a super-thin layer of genuine, exotic Makassar ebony was applied to the drum. The application is first rate and this drum looks amazing!! The factory bearing edge profile was retained but there are a few minor chips in the lower edges.

Unfortunately, the original Sonor name badge is missing.

This drum is factory equipped with sixteen Sonor "Phonic" die-cast lugs, two Sonor ferromanganese steel triple-flanged hoops, 16 Sonor slotted tension rods and three Sonor "Prism" floor tom leg brackets. All of the metal parts are brilliantly triple-AAA "Diamond" chrome plated and look great.

Three floor tom legs are included with this drum but I'm not sure if they are correct Sonor models.

Both the upper and lower drum heads are old Remo models and they will need to be replaced.
