This is a Vintage 1981 Tokai Silver Star in almost mint condition for its age. It's an exact copy of a 1976 Fender Stratocaster, made famous by The Edge, Sting, with a black-on-black look of David' Gilmour's famous Strat.
The guitar pickups, tuners, pots, tremolo system are all original. The neck is a medium-full C shape.
The action on this guitar is low and silky smooth. Check my feedback. My guitars are set up to intonate, bend and play to perfection out of the box.
The neck is a beautiful one-piece maple with plenty of fret life left. The body is likely Japanese sen wood, which is my favorite (and Eddie Van Halen's!) favorite tone wood. Perfect balance of mid-range and clarity.
The pots and pickup selector work smoothly with no issues.
It's light for a 70's style Strat, rings out, and has that perfect quack in the 2 and 4 in-between positions.
There are some pickguard scratches and one very small ding on the back of the body. Outside of that, I dare you to find a cleaner example of this guitar.
