Vintage and rare African wood drum from the Casamance region of Senegal. It is typically played by the head drummer leading a group of numerous drummers playing during men‘s wrestling matches. The drum measures 25 inches in length with an 6 inch drum surface. It is played with an open hand along with a drum beater in the other hand. I commissioned the drum while living in The Senegal and personally brought it back to the US myself in 1975.
