Built over several months in direct collaboration with Paoletti Guitars, Blood Ivy is a true one of one commissioned instrument created exclusively for Beyond Tone Instruments.

This is not a standard Paoletti with a custom finish. It is a fully realized concept piece built around aged Italian materials, gothic visual language, & Paoletti’s signature reclaimed chestnut body wood.

The body is made from Paoletti’s celebrated reclaimed chestnut, sourced from Italian wine barrels that spent roughly 80 years aging in Tuscan cellars before being transformed into an instrument. The open grain, cream washed body finish, & antique character give the guitar a look that feels somewhere between old vineyard furniture, cathedral architecture, & boutique Italian luthiery.

The top is wrapped in hand finished Italian vegetable tanned leather, stained in a deep oxblood crimson & waxed by hand to reveal a dark marbled texture across the surface. It has a worn, organic, almost relic like depth that photographs beautifully but feels even better in person.

The fretboard features a fully custom vine inlay made from 50 year old olive wood branches, hand shaped into the board & carried through the entire visual theme of the guitar. A matching engraved brass truss rod cover completes the concept.

There are no plastic appointments anywhere on the instrument. Every visible detail was intentionally chosen to serve the build.
