Samick L-5 copy
Great jazz guitar, great value.
Unlike most currently produced, affordable jazz guitars with "short scale" (24.75" string length), this is a "long scale", 25.5" instrument. The longer strings require more tension to tune them up to pitch, resulting in a brighter tone. Kenny Burrel and Wes Montgomery played Gibson Super 400 and L-5 , respectively, which are "long scale" guitars. Jimi Hendrix's Stratocaster was also a long scale instrument. This guitar additionally has a large 17" wide, laminate body which provides depth and fullness.
Rich Severson on YouTube calls Samicks "one of the best values available" in a Gibson L-5 style instrument. You can check out Rich playing a Samick on the accompanying video link.
The treble pickup doesn't work on this guitar, which is why its condition is classified as "Fair" and it's priced low. Otherwise, I'd classify it as "Good".
