This French-made Leblanc VSP Bb clarinet serial number B79727 is a strong example of the respected VSP series associated with the Pascucci distribution lineage and the Leblanc family of intermediate and advancing professional clarinets. Developed as a tribute to Vito S. Pascucci, co-founder and president of Leblanc USA, the VSP occupies a place much closer to Noblet and higher-end Leblanc production than to generic student-level Vito instruments.

🎶 This clarinet has been completely repadded, serviced, adjusted, and regulated, and is ready to play. It offers the warm tonal character, flexible response, and lighter French-style feel commonly associated with French-made Leblanc clarinets of this era.

Body & Condition

⚠️ Special note: One screw will need to be replaced in the future on this clarinet, but it still works fine as is. The hinge rod screw on the RH side Eb/Bb trill key needs to be drilled out or extracted, as the head is stripped. An experienced tech can handle this job with minimal expense. But again, the clarinet is playing just fine as-is. (See photos)

The body is constructed from grenadilla wood and remains in pretty good condition for its age. Normal wear and tear along with minor cosmetic scratches and blemishes may appear throughout the body consistent with careful use over time. The instrument shows no cracks, no previous crack repairs, and no structural repairs.

The bore measures 15.0 mm (0.591") at the entry and 14.7 mm (0.579") at the exit. The included barrel is believed to be original and measures 66 mm.

The body has been cleaned and oiled inside and out. The top tenon is metal-capped, a feature commonly associated with higher-level professional-style clarinets from the Leblanc family.
