Be sure to check this beauty out while you can, as we don't expect this one to stick around too long! The Vox Sidewinder IV bass was most-likely designed to compete with the contemporaneous Gibson EB-2 bass. The aesthetic similarities are obvious, but there are several ways the Vox differs. The Sidewinder is a fully-hollow, double cutaway, short scale (around 30" from nut to bridge saddle) bass with two Vox proprietary "Ferro-Sonic" pickups. The two pickups are controlled by standard Master Volume/Tone/Tone knobs and a 3-position selector switch. Additional controls for the unique onboard effects are mounted to a metal control plate. There's an On/Off switch for the G Tuner, which emits a G tuning drone. The onboard Treble/Bass Booster can be switched on to dial in a pleasing and very musical scooped mids tone. Finally, an onboard distortion circuit can be switched on and ranges from light clipping to all out fuzzy overdrive. The finish on this one has some cracking, but overall this bass is in good condition. The neck is super svelte, and the nut width is 1 11/16". This bass weighs in at 7.8 pounds. A gig bag is included.
