The Rei Stratocaster R246 was developed based on a Stratocaster that Rei has used for many years, which was fitted with the neck from a Lead II and modified in various ways.
While recreating the grip of the Lead II neck, which Rei herself has said feels the most familiar in her hands, the neck has been boldly extended to 24 frets. In addition, by making the body size slightly smaller, it has been designed so that players can play comfortably up to the 24th fret without losing the impression of a Stratocaster.
Other features carried over to this model include a combination of a 2-point tremolo bridge and Graph Tech saddles for improved tuning stability, as well as Vintage Noiseless Pickups, which are essential to its sound.
The body color is Rei Blu, inspired by the cover of Rei’s first album. In addition, details such as Rei’s signature on the back of the headstock and the “R246” logo designed specifically for this model make this a guitar filled with Rei’s personal attention to detail.
