I've been gravitating towards smaller bodied guitars lately, so I'm slimming down my dreadnaught collection. For offer is my 1985 made in Japan K. Yairi DY61 Signature Standard. It looks, feels, and plays like some of the multi-thousand dollar guitars I've owned. The combination of woods is stunning, and it is covered in beautiful details from end to end. The neck even has some subtle flame down it's length. The only modifications are a professionally installed Colosi
WAHI nut/compensated saddle/bridge pins, and a professional set up (several hundred dollars worth of upgrades). It will come in a hardshell case from the same era as the guitar. This one would be a great option for either a player or collector.
Condition: I would call it
very good condition, particularly for a 30 year old guitar! There are 2 nicks on the lower bout and one tiny one on the back of the headstock. There are some light pick scratches since it doesn't have a pick guard. There is a little bit of finish clouding under the B string tuning peg. The frets are outstanding with virtually no signs
of wear, no buckle rash, no cracks, no repairs, etc. That's about it. It is extremely clean, and I don't believe there is a single mark or scuff on the back or sides!

Description from Yairi catalog (also shown in my pics):
The exquisite headstock is inlaid with a combination of natural materials that makes a statement of distinction. Maple, abalone, ebony, walnut, and burled mahogany are all hand inlaid with pride. The warm solid cedar top, natural wood bindings, and beautiful burled mahogany give the instrument its tonal character. Even the machine heads are unique gold, amber buttoned, and die cast for accurate tuning. The genuine abalone and mother of pearl is inlaid at the twelfth fret position to state that the DY61 is truly something special.
