* UPDATE: 5/28/26
I’ve had a few emails about shipping, so I’ve decided to ship out of California. Please note, I do not have a case for the guitar but I will make sure it’s securely packaged for its journey.
And I’m using the Reverb shipping calculator to help lower the costs. Please email me with any questions. Thank you.
For sale is my 2019 Limited Edition Road Worn '50s Telecaster in the rare Metallic Copper finish. As you can see I turned it into an Esquire. I never used the front pickup and thought I'd had some fun with the switching.
Instead of the usual Esquire wiring with the dull tone knob, I went with a recommendation from Seymour Duncan and put in a Billy Gibbons BG 1400 Pickup and wired it for the Series/Split/Parallel.
Position #1 Series 14.8k
Position #2 Split (True Single Coil) 7.6k
Position #3 Parallel 28.1k
I also switched out the pots for 1 VIP Pot (Centralab Copy) and a Standard CTS for the Tone (Both 250k).
Please note, I'm including all the original pickups, pickguard and wiring harness.
The Finish: It’s a nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Classic Copper. This color was limited to a specific production run (reputedly only 200–300 units for some colors in this series), making it really special / rarer than the standard blonde or sunburst versions.
The Neck Radius: Standard '50s reissues usually have a very curved 7.25" radius, which can cause notes to "choke out" during big bends. This model has a 9.5" radius, which is flatter and more modern.
The Frets: It features Narrow Tall frets, which give you more "grip" on the strings for vibrato and bending compared to the tiny vintage frets found on standard Road Worns.
The Body: These were typically built with an Alder body (though some similar runs used Ash), finished in that "Road Worn" relic style to mimic decades of use.
Details:
- Finish: Limited Edition Metallic Copper (Nitrocellulose Lacquer)
- Body: Alder (Lightweight and resonant)
- Neck: Maple with a comfortable "C" profile
- Radius: 9.5" (Flatter and friendlier for bending than the standard 7.25")
- Frets: 21 Narrow Tall (6105 style)
- Pickups: Fender Vintage-Style Single-Coil Tele
- Bridge: 3-Saddle Vintage-Style Strings-Through-Body Tele with Chrome Barrel Saddles
- Weight: Very light and comfortable (approx 7 lbs)
Please email me with any questions you may have.
Local pickup in the Los Angeles area preferred. Thank you.
