Yamaha GC-50X Classical Guitar ex. Angel Romero, Cedar, Brazilian Rosewood and Fustero Tuners

One of a kind, hand made, Yamaha custom guitar, specifically made for Angel Romero.

This instrument was custom-built for Angel Romero in the early 1980's after a team of luthiers from Yamaha visited him, taking measurements of his body proportions - hands, shoulders, arms, etc. in attempt to build as ergonomically perfect a design as possible for his playing. The Yamaha luthiers at this time had been trained by Manuel Hernandez (of the famous Hernandez y Aguado workshop) and so the build is thoroughly Spanish throughout. Toshio Kato's signature is on the label.

The Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides is of an extremely unique and interesting character and the head stock carving is spectacular. Exceptional workmanship throughout.

The voice of this instrument is sweet and bright with excellent dynamic expression, very Spanish in nature; with great volume and projection. No damage or repairs at all and only some wear in the finish from many years of use by Angel Romero. The original tuners were in poor repair so I installed a brand new set of Fustero tuning machines that work flawlessly and look spectacular. Setup has been optimized for great playability. Comes in the original Yamaha case.
