We are selling this rare and vintage Roland SC-7, General MIDI Sound Module made in Japan in 1992!

CONDITION: This Roland SC-7 is in mint cosmetical condition and is sold with its original Roland power supply, 5 original cables (some still sealed), and a printed copy of the manual. Functionally, it has only been tested as a MIDI expander/sound module by connecting a MIDI controller via the MIDI IN port, and we were able to hear all the beautiful sounds available in the sound list. It has NOT been tested as a computer interface or for other uses.

IMPORTANT: When we connected it via MIDI, the stereo RCA output did not work and produced no sound, while the headphone output worked perfectly. Therefore, we only used the headphone output by connecting it to our mixer. It may be due to a setting that needs to be adjusted, or the stereo RCA output may require repair, or it could simply be dirty contacts. We are not technicians, so we cannot say for sure. However, you can still use it normally via the headphone output. Please take this into account before making an offer or purchasing, as we will not offer any returns or refunds.

DESCRIPTION: The Roland SC-7 General MIDI Sound Module is a stand-alone MIDI synthesizer module by Roland Corporation. It was released in 1992. It supports the General MIDI System and can also be used as a MIDI interface for a computer. The Roland SC-7 provides the basic (capital) Roland Sound Canvas sounds in a compact design for stand-alone, IBM PC/AT or Apple Macintosh computer use.

The SC-7 is 16-part multitimbral with 28-voice polyphony. Individual sounds use one or two voices. It complies to the General MIDI System Level 1 Specification with 128 sounds, 6 drum sets (derived from GS drum sets) digital reverb/delay and chorus effects. The Roland SC-7's ROM samples sound similar with other Roland Sound Canvas and other Roland products from the same era, for example, the Roland SCC-1, the Roland SC-55, the Roland XP-10 synthesizer, and the Roland E-Series Intelligent Keyboard lineup.
