Up for sale is an extremely rare 2009 ESP Maverick MV, one of the most unique and technically advanced guitars from ESP’s Original Series. Designed for players who demand unrestricted upper-fret access, fast playability, and aggressive modern tone, the Maverick stands apart with one feature almost unheard of in production guitars—27 frets.
The Maverick is the only model in ESP’s Original Series to feature this extended fret range, giving players access beyond the standard 2-octave register for ultra-high lead work, advanced tapping, and technical soloing.
Built in Japan with premium materials and flawless craftsmanship, this 2009 example features a resonant White Ash body, a fast 3-piece Hard Maple neck, and a sleek Ebony fingerboard loaded with premium Jescar frets for exceptional feel and durability.
Its compact, ergonomic body design includes ESP’s signature ERGO cut, sculpted bolt-on heel joint, deep cutaway access, and rounded waist contour, making upper-register playing feel effortless despite the extended fretboard.
Loaded with a hot-rodded Seymour Duncan setup, this Maverick is equally capable of articulate cleans, punchy rhythm work, and screaming high-gain lead tones. The center pickup position automatically coil-splits both pickups, delivering a unique glassy single-coil-like tone not found on most shred guitars.
A seriously underrated and hard-to-find Japanese ESP built for players who want something beyond the ordinary.
