Well fellow Fender Nation family members, with GREAT PLEASURE I present this Slab Board Beauty to the community. This breathtaking EARLY (1-61) Slab is genuinely the stuff dreams are made of folks. Like every single box.. all the lil nuances.. all the marquis and “must” haves.. boys and girls this one COVERS THEM ALL!!

Let’s get the “bad” out of the way.. this will be quick and easy! lol

Two unoriginal knobs, both tone (volume legit). The center (tone) pot is frozen open.. I haven’t attempted to unfreeze as all the solder joints are sealed and original and… I’m not chancing…it’s up the the new owner to attempt or replace. The 1st 3 frets have “witch nail” wear some started on the 4th.. doesn’t affect anything and in my opinion looks pretty bad ass because it just shows two things… the original owners comfort box… and that they played the F out of this because it feels and sound so incredible and the new owner will witness that firsthand… good luck putting this thing down once you start.

Besides that cats and kittens this January 61 Slab Beaut is stuck in 1961 and oh my word is it PROUD TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT!

The overall played often overtone and vintage mojo this thing exudes is obviously upper Gothic and surpasses anything that the Custom Shop or Masterbuilts can honestly recapture… don’t get me wrong. I’ve got mad, love and respect for those because they are truly works of art and they have given it one hell of a go, and let’s be honest some of them get extremely close. But let’s also not forget this is exactly and I mean EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE SHOOTING FOR This is it!! an early 60s slab Rosewood board American classic frozen in time that still produces and functions just like it has from the minute it was born!!
The frets are good, action amazing and the neck is a perfect medium profile.. not slim and sharp… not fat and chunky.. just fills up the hand oh so well and plays like a dream. The wood on the back of the neck is a superb piece of maple that has birdseye, flame and quilt sprinkled in all over and the pics can’t really capture the activity… it’s a great feeling and looking piece of working art y’all.. this axe is LEGIT! It resonates throughout from tip to bout AND anything that happens to touch it while it’s being played ( hands, fingers, arms, body.. ANYTHING) just becomes part of the machines resonance! Like most of these vintage jewels this is a back friendly Instrument weighing in at only 7 pounds! Hangs over the shoulder with even distribution and like I said you can play for three hours and not even flinch…. And more importantly for us older cats and kittens… still get out of bed the next day!! lol

It is currently sitting in a 60s black tolex case it is not original, but serves its purpose and still looks great.

I am glad to offer this one up to both players and collectors as this one will suffice both parties with ease…these are getting harder to come by in this condition not just visually but structurally.
Thanks for the interest folks.
