Kendrick 2410 Hand-Wired Bassman Amplifier With Reverb

I’m selling my Kendrick 2410 tube guitar amplifier (S/N 0061) with the optional three-knob reverb unit and hard-to-find tweed footswitch.  The 2410 is based on the Fender 5F6-A Bassman circuit and was hand-made in 1991-92 by Gerald Weber of Kendrick amps.

According to Mr. Weber, the cabinet was constructed from old growth pine (140-175 years old) from barns in and around Pflugerville, Texas. Old pine is more resonant and contributes to that “woody” tone. The lacquered tweed covering is in very good shape and has a slightly relic’d appearance. The grill cloth has no tears, but has a white stain (see photos; probably beer).

This is a 1959 tweed Bassman  circuit with the addition of an adjustable tube-buffered serial effects loop (which can be bypassed or used as a foot-switchable boost), and a three-knob (dwell, tone, mix) tube reverb unit.

It sounds huge, punchy, and downright amazing. The reverb is like an vintage stand-alone Fender tube reverb unit and costs nearly nine hundred dollars if purchased separately! With an Oddfellow Caveman or Tube Screamer and wah pedal you get instant Hendrix tones, and the natural clean tones require no pedals for traditional blues.

Cosmetically, it's very clean and shows some light wear. See marks on sides and faceplate from transportation.

The amp has four original Kendrick 10” Blackframe speakers made with NOS Donal Kapi cones (the original supplier for Jensen).

Important: Recently, I sent the amp to Kendrick for re-capping. This cost $330.00, not including transportation (see last picture for the actual invoice). In addition, other components in the phase inverter and preamp sections were replaced for the sole purpose of making this amp quiet. It is now as quiet as a mouse at full volume (volume and tone controls full up), with some occasional, barely audible hissing. This could be considered quiet enough for studio work.

I have three Kendrick amps and this one weighs in at about 55 lbs. With a recent injury, it’s too risky for me to carry this amp around. If you play blues or R&B, this is your amp. The amp functions as intended and has no known issues. Gerald Webber also replaced the tubes and cleaned all the pots and burnished the input jacks.

Continental U.S. only. No returns.

The shipping cost will be over $100 for most places in the continental U.S. because of the weight and size of this amp. It will be double-boxed and packed extremely well, and the tubes will be packed separately.

Local pickup is preferred and shipping will be consequently exempted; no extra charges levied for packing. The price includes shipping and insurance within the continental USA.

Thanks for looking!

Trades: none except for a Carr Rambler or Vincent (Viceroy)
