I purchased this item several years back and never did anything with it.
Here is info from the original seller:
This neck date code is not readable, but all parts on the guitar dated to 1981. The nut is 1.57" wide and the neck is 090." thick at the 1st fret and 0.96" thick at the 12th fret. It is straight and the truss rod works. The frets show some average wear, but it was in very good playing condition while still on the body and had no major issues. The fretboard is clean and has no major wear. The back of the neck has a few finish chips on the side form the case, but is pretty clean otherwise. The headstock has some small dings and general wear around the edges, but no cracks, repairs or other major issues. No extra holes or modifications and the finish is original. The decal is original also, but someone had a sticker over the "Musicmaster" part at one point and you can see and outline from it when you view it in the light.
Please note that this neck originally had the earlier style tuners on it. Fender switched to the Schaller ones in about 1976 which have slightly larger bushings. This one uses the smaller ones from the 60's an early 70's, so you might have to widen the holes a little bit if you plan to use ones from the late 70's.
This part was removed from a genuine American made 1981 Fender Musicmaster. The serial number was S810163, the pickup had a 1981 date code and the pots dated to March 1981.
