Another verbose description, but if you are looking for a guitar with a wide nut and accordingly a wider string spacing you may want to read it.

This is the first electric guitar I bought shortly after I arrived in California from over the pond. I bought it at the Guitar Center in Santa Clara (the original receipt and documentation is included). This shop still exists although they moved on the other side of the Stevens Creek Blvd. I know GC does not get much love, but this is a great store to spend a rainy Sunday. They have tons of gear you can play with for hours and they are happy to let you do it.

This guitar started as an American Standard Stratocaster. I started to develop a major FOMO for the Strat Plus and the Strat Plus Deluxe. Finally, I got tired of the pickups noise and decided it was time to convert it to a Strat Plus configuration.

Here are the upgrades that were done:

-       The original pickups were replaced by Lace Sensors Blue, Silver and Red. The electronics was not altered so you still get the TBX circuit.

-       A Hipshot Tremsetter Bridge Tremolo stabilizer was installed

-       Genuine locking Fender/Schaller tuners (in sating finish) replaced the original ones

-       The neck was replaced by a maple Warmoth Superwide (1 7/8 nut width) Standard thin with stainless steel 6105 frets. The finish is clear satin. I am 6’4” and I need guitars with a minimal nut width of 1.75 (1 ¾) to be comfortable.

All the work and the final setup was done at Mark’s Guitar Repair. Mark is a highly regarded luthier in the Bay Area (his original fame was that he was the guitar tech on tour with the Doobie Brothers). Mark recommended that no string tree be installed as some interfere with the Tremsetter. Setup was perfect and I never had to change anything,

Of course, as I have the original receipt for the guitar, I also have all the receipts for the new parts and the work / setup and I will put them in the case.

The guitar is in a condition that I would describe as excellent. The neck is in mint condition and there is no wear on the fret as they are stainless steel and I barely played it since the upgrades (After many years in California I have accumulated too many guitars and started to play classical).

The guitar body has exactly four imperfections. A nick and two discolorations on the bottom edge and minuscule nick on the top edge. I have put pictures showing them.

The case is in mint condition. I bought it recently from the Stratosphere (receipt included). It was the original Fender case for a Jeff Beck Stratocaster model. I had the original no brand case from Guitar Center but I thought this guitar deserved better.

The original case candy is included. This means the documentation and labels but also extra springs for the tremolo, tremolo arm, the strap locks, extra tension springs for the tremolo arm.

I have a box to ship it, but if you are in the Bay Area, you are welcome to come try it and we can also share a coffee and shoot the breeze about gear and music.

The shipping cost is based on the Reverb calculator. If it ends up being cheaper, I will reimburse the buyer. If it turns out to be more expensive, I will eat up the cost difference.
