Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a classic 1980's / 90's era Shure Brothers 565SD (Unisphere 1) dynamic cardioid microphone complete with an original Shure A-25 mic clip & 12 foot cable in which to operate. This 565SD model was introduced in the 1960's and was made for several decades. This is the older Mexican made model. The 565SD has been made in China for about 20 to 25 years now.   This was a widely used model by many famous musicians over the years and Jimi Hendrix used to use the early American made model when performing live. The mic is set at low impedance having a beautiful, smooth, warm tone.

Pic # 2 is an old 1970's Shure advertisement showing this earlier version and it's characteristics.

It works like new and sounds incredible. Very similar to the SM-58. It does have more of a mid range sound however as the modern SM-58 is very heavy on the bass. Everyone I have seen using one of these always tell me how much they enjoy the sound of them. This is a very popular and affordable quality mic.

This 565SD has been cleaned and tested...sounds just like the day it was first manufactured. The signal strength on this old mic is very strong. 100%. This mic is an excellent choice for both broadcasting and singing purposes. A very high quality Shure product with excellent uni-directional pattern blocking out most background noise.

As you can see in the pictures provided the finish has virtually no cosmetic wear on the handle. It has a beautiful luster on the satin chrome finish. The black plastic fitting looks very nice with zero deep scratches and zero fractures. Just a few lite scuff marks. The Shure label that encircles the lower globe shows extremely lite wear and completely legible. The chrome globe shows zero dents or tarnish and no odors. It has a nice original interior foam liner / pop filter under the globe to help with unwanted feedback from wind or strong breathing. No loose parts. The 565SD is a real work horse.

It should be noted that the mic takes a standard XLR cable which is included. The cable is just as nice as the mic with two quality Switchcraft XLR connectors. It's soft, pliable and 12 feet in length. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned on both the mic and cable ensuring a prefect signal once the cable is attached.

The mic also comes with an older generic Shure A-25 model mic clip that works perfect for this mic and it fits snug on the mic. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand. Provides a wide degree of tilt up and down. The clip looks just as nice as the mic.

Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event.
