If you’re into Jazz Basses but want something that feels a little more dialed-in and modern, this 2019 Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass Texas Tea is a really solid way to go.

This one’s been played, but taken care of. Very good condition overall with just light, superficial play wear. No major dings or dents, neck is straight, and the frets still have plenty of life left. 

The Texas Tea finish is killer in person too.It’s got that dark, almost blacked-out look until the light hits it and you start seeing the sparkle come through. Super classy without being overly flashy.

As far as feel goes, the Modern “D” neck is a big upgrade if you’ve only played more traditional Jazz profiles. It’s smooth, fast, and comfortable, and the compound radius makes it feel easy whether you’re down low or way up the neck. The tapered heel is a nice touch too, makes upper fret access feel way less cramped.

Tone-wise, this thing covers a ton of ground. The Ultra Noiseless Vintage pickups give you that classic Jazz Bass bite and clarity, but without the hum, and the active preamp gives you a ton of control when you want to shape things further. You can flip over to passive if you want to keep it simple, so it really does both worlds well.

It’s one of those basses that can handle pretty much any gig you throw at it, and still feels great just sitting around jamming at home. This one weighs 9lbs 6oz.
