NOS Vintage Gibson Tim Shaw Humbucker Patent Number – Kalamazoo Era Double Cream – 8.87K Hot PAF Pickup

This is a super rare one… a true Tim Shaw Double Cream Patent Number Humbucker in unused New Old Stock condition. This Humbucker was purchased in a left over parts lot from the Kalamazoo factory. These double cream Tim Shaw Humbuckers were used in the Gibson Spirit model Les Pauls and are characterized as a hot wound Tim Shaw PAF. This one reads at 8.87K on my multimeter, just like the hotter wound PAFs of the 1950s. It’s got a roughcast alnico magnet and white spacers under the tape as a Tim Shaw should.

This example shows multiple indicators consistent with unused factory stock

-Original braided lead is clean and untinned and shows no signs of prior installation

-Lead is factory-trimmed to bridge position length

-Pickup even has wood dust on the sides and bottom from living on a guitar factory shelf

-Pole screws and slugs remain clean and untarnished

-Still mounted to an original new old stock 80s Gibson bridge pickup ring

It’s fantastic collectors piece from one of the best eras for Gibson Humbuckers
