Pioneer SA-9500 II Multi-Voltage Stereo Integrated Amplifier — Professionally Serviced, March 2026
The SA-9500 II is widely considered the crown jewel of Pioneer's late-1970s integrated amplifier lineup, and this example is ready to perform. Produced from 1977 to 1979, it delivers 80 watts per channel continuous into 8 ohms (100W into 4 ohms) with THD of just 0.05% across a frequency response of 5Hz to 50kHz — specs that remain competitive with modern equipment nearly 50 years later. The multi-voltage power supply (110/120/220/240V, 50/60Hz) makes this an attractive option for international buyers or anyone running a dedicated 220V listening room.
Recent Service — March 25, 2026 This unit was just serviced by Video Electronics of North Reading, MA (MA Master Lic. #9927), a trusted local shop. Work performed: input signal path repair, preamp re-soldering, and hot spot touch-up. All functions tested and passed. The unit comes with the original repair ticket and carries a transferable 90-day warranty on all parts and labor. It is expected to function at or exceeding original factory specification for long-term use.
Cosmetic Condition - Very good overall. The brushed aluminum faceplate presents exceptionally well — all knobs, switches, and legends are intact and clean. Light wear consistent with careful use over 45 years is visible only under close examination. The lower bottom corner of the rear chassis has a minor bend that does not affect performance and is not visible under normal display or use circumstances. See photos.
Connectivity Dual phono inputs (Phono 1 & Phono 2) with adjustable cartridge load, Tuner, Aux, two tape loops with dubbing, Pre-Out/Power Amp In for separates integration, and switchable A/B speaker outputs. Low-cut (15Hz) and high-cut (8kHz) filters. Loudness, muting, mode, and tone defeat switches.

From the owner's manual:
The Pioneer SA-9500 does deliver an unusually large continuous power output of 80 watts per channel, min RMS at 8 ohms from 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz with no more than 0.1% total harmonic distortion, but it also ensures that even when operated at low volumes the performance retains a crisp, sparkling clarity.
The dynamic response and reliability of the SA-9500 are matched with a flexibility of use you'll rarely find in this price range. Tone control versatility, for instance: both the bass and treble sections have 3-position turnover selection and there's a tone on/off switch for "flat" response at a touch.
The 2-step high and low filters, the extra convenient tape duplicating switching system, multiple input source selection, 2-system speaker switching and much more mean first-class handling.
