Crown Model SASS-P MK II stereo PZM microphone.

In good working order!

Foam on the sides is a DIY replacement ( most of them have this done as the original foam crumbled easily ) it could have been done be a bit “neater” but it works perfectly.
The SASS ( stereo ambient sampling system ) microphone is something different! opinions about it’s naturalness are a bit divided ( although there are simple mods to greatly improve this aspect ) but in my opinion it produces an ABSOLUTELY GREAT and unique stereo sound which sounds like nothing you’ve ever heard… add it to direct mics in a drum recording for instance, and you’ll know what I mean, compress it and it will blow you away.
Also a VERY SPECIAL addition to almost any sound source!

So; is the most natural stereo PZM? no! but is it something which will make a recording engineer happy? Triple YEP I say!
