We are thrilled to offer you this absolute dream banjo from a private collection. It is a 5-string banjo with an integrated resonator made by the Vermont-based company Bacon (long before David Day became a partner at Fred Bacon’s); more specifically, it is the company’s top-of-the-line model from that era.

The multi-layered neck is made of light holly, as is the veneer on the maple shell. The ebonized, extended fingerboard features delicate inlays, as do the peghead (front and back) and the back of the carved heel. What makes this instrument special, of course, is the patented Bacon tone ring and the integrated hollow-chamber resonator.

The instrument sounds absolutely fantastic and is wonderfully easy to play. The neck is naturally straight, and the neck angle is perfect. For better handling, the original tuning pegs have been replaced with modern geared pegs. The grooved hoop, as well as the tension hooks and nuts, have also been replaced. The original tuners, tension hooks, nuts, and notched hoop are included and part of this offer!

The banjo is equipped with Aquila All Nylgut strings for classic banjo playing; the package also includes a new NoKnot tailpiece, an Elite Renaissance head, and an ebony bridge.

Length 95 cm, scale length 69 cm, nut width 30 mm, 11" body

The instrument is in very good condition, with only minimal signs of age and wear. It comes in a modern Superior hard case.

This instrument is used! Pictures are part of the description.
