Vintage 1968 Fender Precision Bass 4-Ply Tort Pickguard
Original Fender Precision Bass pickguard from 1968. 4-ply (faux) tortoise shell. This guard still has the looks of the pre-CBS red "pepperoni" tort color pattern (as opposed to the more burgundy ones that Fender moved to by the early '70s. Shows wear and patina from age and use, but good shape for its age with no major shrinkage or warping and the screw holes still line up. It has a small crack in the usual spot by the hole for the jack (see pic). Nothing made today looks anywhere near as cool as these old vintage guards, not even Spitfire's replica guards can nail this look. Perfect to restore that old Precision with this beautiful authentic tort pickguard!
