Zenjian vintage 1950-60s 12” hi-hats, UFIP, Italy, 616/682 grams, very good sounding hi-hats and/or could be used as high crash/splash or just as collectibles, 60+ years old. Great patina, hand hammered, from logos my guess is early 1950s and possibly earlier, pre-war, as Leedy was bought by Ludwig see pics with logos and markings. “Starting around 1930, Zildjian made "house cymbals" for the various drum companies that existed at the time. Each one had its own name, but all were made by Zildjian. Slingerland was Alejian, Leedy was Zenjian and Ludwig was Zilco…After WWII there was a metal shortage and Zildjian had trouble keeping up with all the orders, so Leedy contracted an Italian (UFIP) maker to create a surrogate house cymbal for them, until Ziljdian could get back on top of their orders. The Italian cymbal was called Zinjian. Zildjian felt that name was too close to theirs and protested...Leedy and Ludwig were both Zenjian's in the catalogs. UFIP did Zenjian's too after the war in Italy…”
