For sale is a vintage beyerdynamic m500 mocrophone modified by Stephen Sank. This is apparently Stephen’s favorite mod. The microphone body resonance is corrected, ribbon replaced with RCA DX style corrugated ribbon, and an inline phantom powered preamp installed adding about 20db of clean gain similar to a cloud lifter. This is a great sounding microphone capable of handling high spl due to beyedynamic‘s windscreen design. Equally at home on kick drum as it is on a guitar amp or lead vocal.
