Gretsch - Steve Ferrone's Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, 4x14" GG4177K Gretsch-American Drum Series, Snare Drum, Cadillac Green - 2006 (SF G #1)
There are bad asses, and there are BAD ASSES!! Steve Ferrone would be the later.
In the world of "first call” drummers, Steve Ferrone is the first one they call. Just ask Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, George Harrison, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Rick James, Slash, Chaka Khan, Bee Gees, Al Jarreau, Mick Jagger or Johnny Cash. When iconic bands like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Average White Band, Duran Duran and Aerosmith needed to replace their “irreplaceable” drummers, Steve Ferrone was the guy who stepped up.
Steve played a lot of drums throughout his career and he's saved almost every one of them. He has drums from Ludwig, Pearl, DW, Gretsch, Rogers and more. Some are custom made, some are rare prototypes, all are stellar drums. Nothing made it into his collection unless it was exceptional.
He’s thinning down his collection to just the drums he needs for his current gig with Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs, and his steady stream of session dates.
Steve’s collection is being offered for sale, hoping these drums find buyers who appreciate their history and continue making great music with them.
Gretsch 4x14" GG4177K Gretsch-American Drum Series, Snare Drum, Cadillac Green
This Gretsch USA Custom 4x14" snare drum in Cadillac Green inspired Steve's Signature Series Gretsch drums in the same finish that were released shortly after Steve received this drum in 2006. The drum has remained part of Steve's collection of "go-to" studio snares ever since. The drum shows minor signs of wear but remains in excellent condition with no issues. Everything works exactly the way it's supposed to. Steve signed the batter head.
6-ply Gretsch-formula maple/gum shell, 30-degree bearing edge, “Silver Sealer” interior and 4mm die-cast hoops.
Serial Number: 2006-043
Includes a COA signed by Steve Ferrone.
