Jazz Bass-style Felt bass mutes reproduction 1960

Reproduction “Jazz Bass”-style felt mutes handmade in Texas! An homage to a clever Leo design. These will give your bass a wooly thud like no foam mute ever could, as the felt softly hugs the strings rather than simply pushing up against them. These can be slightly adjusted by sliding closer or further away from the bridge and adjusted for pressure and string contact by bending down. The felt slot will naturally break in with play and soften the muting as further. Check out Danny Sapkos video featuring a set of Thud Muffins mutes for a good sound comparison! Thank you 🙏🏻 

Specs:

-laser-cut stainless steel in a non-brushed finish, strong-yet purposefully bendable to achieve the desired muting on various setups. Formed on a bending break-jig like they were in the 60’s 😎✊🏻🙏🏻

-quality wool felt with slots: I offer three felt length options: ‘Long’ which were typically seen on the the AVRI ‘62 Jazz Bass reissues sets, ‘Vintage Short’ which you tend to see on the earliest original 60’s sets, and ‘Staggered Jonesy’ which has the felts going from longest on the low string gradually shortening to the shortest on the highest string(John Paul Jones can be seen with this modification on his J Bass! This can help intonation issues).
