David Frangioni Collection, Ludwig - 6.5x14" 75th Anniversary Seamless/Spun Bronze Super-Sensitive Snare Drum 1984 # 61. (DF2 Lud #1)

Ludwig 75th Anniversary Commemorative 14x6.5 Lacquered Bronze Super-Sensitive snare from 1984. Stamped #61. A numbered limited-edition drum with 10 bowtie lugs, 75th Anniversary commemorative plate, lacquered bronze shell with laser-engraved floral pattern and "B" stamp above muffler.

This drum has a long history, passing through the hands of some of the world's top drummers and collectors before arriving in my hands.

The drum first belonged to Myron Grombacher, original drummer with The Pat Benatar Band who was in regular rotation on 1980s MTV. Myron gave the drum to Todd Trent, the renown artist relations manager at Ludwig during the 1980s and 1990s. Todd passed the drum to Cheap Trick drummer and world renown drum collector Bun E. Carlos. Bun E. wrote a column about this very drum that was published in the Spring 2004 issue of Not So Modern Drummer Magazine before passing there drum to Modern Drummer Magazine owner and avid collector David Frangioni. Ultimately, the found it's way to me and the next buyer will get to take the torch.

Bun E. Carlos signed the inside of the shell. The drum is in excellent condition. Some minor scuffs and scratches are visible on the lacquer finish shell and badges. It appears the shell took a pretty minor ding when it was stamped with the "B". No other notable issues. Everything works as intended.
