The Hexa 8 is not simply an extended-range custom with unusual cosmetics. It is a fully resolved Hufschmid statement piece, where every structural and visual choice serves a larger idea. At the center is a striking 17-piece glow-in-the-dark HufGlow hex inlay, referencing the 17 symmetry groups that describe repeating patterns across a plane — a subtle but fascinating nod to the underlying geometry found in architecture, crystallography, and nature. Once you see the concept, the whole build clicks into place.
Built from single pieces of perfectly quarter-sawn, ribbon-figured Sapele for both the neck and body, the Hexa 8 balances clarity, authority, and control with exceptional ergonomics and a highly deliberate feel in hand. The spec continues that philosophy throughout: C425 brass fretwire, a hand-sculpted Torlon 4203 nut, Alumitone humbuckers, and a visible NOS Soviet KSG-2 silver mica capacitor under plexiglass all reinforce the sense that this is far beyond a conventional boutique build.
