EDIT: BIG PRICE REDUCTION.

I am moving, and I am interested in moving this quickly now. I am lowering the price as well as entertaining offers. Time to get a deal on a beautiful, classic guitar.

----------

Rare, collectible Seagull S6 Maple 1987. The guitar is gorgeous. It plays and sounds great.

I dated it to 1987 using the serial number, and it is very difficult to find this model elsewhere.

I had a good amount of work done fixing it up, see last picture.

I am selling the item As Described due to its age. A few minor issues:

- "A" string tuning machine peg sticks up. This isn't an issue, as it's kept down by string tension. But worth noting.

- Faint horizontal scratches on frets 1-3. I didn't notice this until my luthier pointed it out. In my opinion it looks cool, but it's difficult to see regardless and has no effect on playability.

- Scratch or hairline cracks on neck side and neck back, see pictures toward the end. Not sure what these are, I can feel the one on the side with my nail. I only noticed when doing a thorough look over, and they haven't worsened.

- Slight warping on solid spruce top. This is subtle and again something I didn't notice, but worth noting. The guitar is nearly 40, so this is a sign of age.

The guitar has extensive micro checking. I didn't list this as an issue because it's incredibly cool and one of the main reasons I bought it. As you can see from the pictures, the instrument has a unique and gorgeous aged look.

Why am I parting with it? As much as I love this guitar, I need it the least of the guitars that I have, and it would be in better hands with someone who would play it more.

Please note the condition of the guitar. I have done my best to document everything of note. But to be frank, it is covered in little scratches, checking, etc. I think that is part of the appeal. This is a good match if that also appeals to you.

Information I am reproducing from the only similar listing I could find:

This is a very rare example of one of Seagull's early guitars. The Blue label and small serial number date the guitar to 1987. Seagull currently sells a cutaway flamed maple guitar. That IS NOT what this is. This is their flagship S6, which is the guitar that put Seagull on the map, with the standard Spruce Top, but flamed Maple Back and Sides. Seagull does not make a guitar like this now, and of all the S6 guitars I have come across in the used market, this is the first one I have ever seen in Maple.

----------

This guitar has enjoyed many adventures, including songs at home and around a campfire. Be the next chapter in its journey 🎵
