This 80-Input Harrison is probably the most well-listened to console in the world. While it lived in Hollywood, it mixed the Wizard of Oz, Citizen Kane, The Sound of Music, Gone with The Wind, West Side Story, and more.
About the S12 :
The Harrison Series 12 is a digitally controlled all-analog console. Thought by many, and everyone who has used one, as one of the finest sounding consoles ever made. This one came with a quarter million dollar price tag from Harrison when it was commissioned in the late 90s. There is a digital system that controls parameters on all the totally-analog channel strips, making the entire console (eq, compression, gates, bussing, etc.) completely re-callable and automated.
History :
This specific console (Serial 088) was commissioned for the Rick Chace Theater in Hollywood to be the main analog console at the facility where they restored classic Hollywood films for digital re-release. I have the press release feature from MixOnline magazine describing how the "centerpiece of the studio is an automated 80-input Harrison." Rick Chace was a legend in Hollywood, specifically in film restoration, and Fox has a theater named in his honor. His special skill in film restoration meant that his theater was the center for historic films when they went to digital and the high value films needed to be processed, expanded, and mixed from the old film/tape mono recordings to full-surround. This was the job of this Harrison.
Restoration :
This console has always been in good shape, but because of its age it went to Harrison HQ in Nashville for a full re-cap in 2017.
Inputs and Features :
This console is 80 input, 4x stereo master buses, gates, compression, eq, & filters on every channel, fully recallable, automated, and a virtual channel that lets you sit in the middle of the console and control any of the 80 input channels.
Preamps :
This board does not have pre-amp cards, it is line only and can be expanded to have preamps. I can put you in touch with someone who has the preamp cards.
What I have :
The three parts of the console : The Analog channel strips, the control surface (console mixing board) and the digital support system (computer, nubus cards, etc.)
64 of 80 input channels (See rack pics)
The original hard drive from the Rick Chace theater
The original Mac computer
Thousands of feet of Ribbon cables
All the support cabling
3 power supplies
The original touch-screen monitor
Upgraded Raspberry Pi and HDMI controls for modern computer interface
Service Manuals (No longer available from Harrison/SSL)
Installation documentation (not easily available)
All accessory cabling and PSU Cables
MISSING :
the routing rack that lets you recall outboard routing; not necessary for studio work
I have talked to the president of Harrison and he was willing to go out of his way to help me with his console.
NOTE : There is a digital card in the computer that needs to be looked at for a tech in order for this console to work properly. It is not in current running condition officially, but I have had it very close. I am aware of this issue and have the schematics. I believe a competent PCB tech could make it work. I will provide you with every resource I have and person who might have parts to go with this console.
Shipping :
It is a very historic console and anyone who has one will agree that it is one of the best sounding consoles on the planet. Local pickup in North Texas.
I can arrange to ship it, but it will be pricey, maybe not 2000 dollars pricey, but there are a lot of large pieces to ship.
Installation :
You don’t need a degree in rocket science to install this board. I will provide full documentation of how to do it. I’m pretty sure if you can install a patchbay you can get this console running in your studio.
Thank you for looking!
Make me an offer, I am flexible on the price for someone who wants to adopt this historic console!
Thanks
