WANDRÉ Wandre Rock Oval 1963 - 4 colour with gold sparkle

Wandre Rock Oval with full aluminium neck through system and tremolo tailpiece

1963

A Beautiful, very unusual and very rare Rock Oval that is all original.

This is one of the very last Rock Ovals.

It is the only one I have ever seen with the full neck through system and combined tremolo tailpiece. For the avoidance of doubt the body is 100% original with the Wandre firebrand stamp inside. This is a very unusual Rock Oval which combines the unique body design with the full neck through system - a perfect blend of art, design, and engineering

The body is concave on the front face and convex on the rear with squared off edges. (Most Rock Ovals are convex/convex with a tilting neck)

Beautiful 4 colour finish with gold sparkles. The paintwork is all original and is in remarkable condition with only a few minor blemishes on the edges.

Karak style pickgaurd in very good condition with one very small crack at lower rear edge of opening for bridge pickup

2 Davoli pickups both working perfectly and sound great.

Aluminium/Wood hybrid headstock with Wandre aluminium badge.

Tuners in very good condition - work well, covers and buttons are intact and has the metal rings on the buttons

Fretboard with decorative inlays in very good condition. White plastic cover to rear of neck in good condition with a few shrinkage cracks and a little staining from the original glue.

Full aluminium neck through design with the tremolo tailpiece.

Control box and knobs in very good condition with original potentiometers that have been recently cleaned.
The solder joints have never been tampered with on this guitar.

Guitar plays very well. Currently set up with Thomastik Infeld Jazz Swing JS110 flat wound strings - these sound fantastic with the Davoli pickups.

I’m not a dealer or a shop, just seem to have accumulated too much gear that doesn’t really get the use it should. I’ll be selling quite a few pedals, guitars and parts over the coming weeks and months.

If any questions please get in touch and I’ll do my best to answer any queries.

No case but will be well packed for fully insured delivery.

For USA buyers - new tariffs and the implementation of them mean that there can be difficulties with shipping and potential additional costs associated with this. The shipping prices listed are estimates and need to be confirmed. This is totally beyond my control.
