The Mk1 pedal by Hardware Fixations
A hand-built recreation of the legendary Tascam Portastudio 424 MKI preamp in stompbox form.
This pedal is designed for musicians chasing that warm, saturated, lo-fi magic you hear on cassette recordings. Perfect for Mk.gee tones, bedroom pop, indie, shoegaze, post-rock, noise rock, and when tuned correctly can even get some trashy 60s fuzz tones.
👉 Each one is built by hand in Winston-Salem, NC, with obsessive attention to detail.
👉 Every single colorway is a true one-off. No two pedals will ever be exactly the same. That makes each Mk1 a piece of functional art as much as a piece of gear.
🔊 Use it as:
A preamp to shape your core tone
A clean boost to push your amp
A color box and overdrive/distortion for synths, drum machines, and vocals
A lo-fi saturation tool for recording directly into an interface
A way to nail that Mk.gee guitar sound without needing a vintage Portastudio
Every pedal is tuned for clarity, warmth, and musical breakup, so you can go from glassy cleans to gritty drive.
⚒️ Built in small batches (I can only make 1–2 a week), so availability is limited.
Comes guaranteed for life. If it ever stops working I will repair it, replace it, or refund your money.
