This is the high gain pickup that everyone wants. Its smooth in the high end, slightly scooped on the mids, and a really tight and focused low end. Think EMG 81 through a hot rodded tube amp, AKA thrash, Metallica, Megadeth. Those kinds of tones. The EMA also cleans up very well. It's very clear when played clean. It also blends nicely with a low output neck pick up.
