TASCAM 234 Syncaset Rackmount 4-Track Cassette Recorder 1980s

For sale, a serviced Tascam 234 in excellent working condition, and very good cosmetic condition. Sold with 2u 19" rack ears (which can be removed if desired), detachable rubber feet for desktop use, and original user manual.

I service cassette 4 tracks etc for a living, and vlog about my process on youtube, where my ciontent has over 1 million views.

This unit is being sold on behalf of a customer, it is a "frankenstein" assembled from the best parts of two donors. In addition to a couple fo minor electrical repairs, the control board on the rear of the cassette player has been completely recapped, all the rubber parts have been replaced, and the mechanisms have been celaned and lubricated. All user controls have been deep cleaned with contact cleaner and lubricated with caig deoxit. All critial settings such as azimuth, bias leak, tape speed, record and reproduce amplifier gain etc have been checked and adjusted where appropriate.

I do offer support after sales - on the rare occasions a unit I serviced developed an issue in transit I can usually rectify the problem for free. Similarly if the unit develops problems within the first months after sale I am normally willing to rectify the issue without labour charges, I just ask the buyer to cover postage to and from my location and cover any spare parts needed.
