Here is an early Hohner Branded Bartell Fretless Bass. These were the brainchild of Paul Barth of Rickenbacker, Magnatone, and National fame. In the 1960s he founded Bartell Inc in California and produced instruments under a variety of names. He would later work with Acoustic on the "Black Widow" model guitars and basses which have a striking similarity to these Bartell Basses. By all accounts this appears to be an early example with CTS pots dated the 33rd week of 1969. What makes this one extra special is the Factory Left Handed orientation which is rarely seen. Semi Hollow Construction, Dual Pickups, Back Pad, and a Maple Neck with half fret lines to aide fretless playing. Very Good Vintage Condition displaying some nicks, dings, and signs of use. The bridge saddles are newer as well as a few screws. The often missing bridge cover is still intact. Included is a gig bag. A Rare Left Handed Bartell Bass.
