TESTED!!!!!
This is a beautifully preserved 1930s Rickenbacker B59 lap steel, complete with its original purple-plush-lined case. Built during the golden age of Hawaiian and western swing music, this cast aluminum beauty helped define the early electric era. It’s untested, but exceptionally clean, offered on behalf of a musician’s family who hopes it finds a home with someone who will truly appreciate it.
The B59 was Rickenbacker’s sleek, streamlined evolution of the original “frying pan” design. These early electrics were groundbreaking, and remain prized for their tonal clarity, sustain, and striking Art Deco design. The textured black finish, matching knobs, and original bridge assembly all appear intact, and the case is a gem in itself, still protecting the guitar nearly 90 years later.
This particular instrument belonged to a musician who used it primarily for remote collaborations, bringing its vintage tone into modern creative spaces. It's now being sold by his spouse, who hopes it will continue to make music in the hands of a fellow enthusiast.
