Steve Weller makes exceptionally fine guitars with fantastic playability, great tone, and unique personality. An aerospace technology veteran and self-proclaimed "old hot-rodder", his attention to detail and innovative stylings make for some amazing instruments. This "El Dorrado" in Ivory features a Mahogany body, with a five-piece Maple and Walnut neck, a 24 3/4" scale, and a 12" radius Ebony fretboard. It has Kluson-style Gotoh tuners, and is loaded with Seymour Duncan "Hades Gates" Billy Gibbons signature humbuckers. It has mixed media finishes; the neck is nitrocellulose over polyester for a very smooth feel, and the body is polyurethane over polyester for a deep and punchy tone. The neck has a "C" profile near the nut and graduates to a "D" shape in the upper register. A true marvel of fit and finish, as well as a tone machine, this baby weighs a mere 7.7 lbs. It comes with a very nice quality gig bag. There is one slight imperfection; there is a place on the bottom edge in the back that has a "buff-through" burn in the paint. But, that's how you know this baby is handmade. If you're looking for something different that totally rocks and still has the integrity of old-school handmade vintage instruments, this one is for you!
