I service a lot of 1176 limiters this one came to me in pieces and is a complete rebuild, as you can see it has a more modern UREI Vu meter, the power supply has been slightly modified as you can see in the photos with a chassis mounted Dale resistor, the existing resistors always burns the PC board and after I had cleaned it I decided to do something a little nicer. It has new 2N5457 FET transistors. There's a 20 turn pot for the meter zero, it has new ratio switches and power and gain reduction switch.
The rainbow capacitors were all shot so this one has WIMA capacitors and Elna electrolytics.
A standout difference in this unit is it has the bigger output transformer, I've only seen these in the UREI mixing board, same inductances but better low frequency response.
This unit also comes with the option which I've seen a lot on these rev b units to install the LN card which I will supply with the unit if you desire. I would recommend having a tech install it. It's rather extensive and it's not the kind of thing that you can switch in and switch out. Personally I like the Rev be in its original form it's kind of like riding a wild horse an amazing on drums.
Sorry about the photos they were just taken on the bench right after I finished calibrating it.
The Audio Rents sticker is from when I sub rented this unit, I think someone made impulse mapping of it.
Enjoy!
