Up for sale, a 1990 Yamaha Weddington Custom in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Only produced for a few years in the early ‘90s, the Weddington was one of the first two models designed by Rich Lasner at Yamaha Guitar Development in North Hollywood (the other being the Pacifica). The Custom was the top-tier Weddington model, featuring premium tonewoods and components including a quilted maple top and a pair of specially-designed DiMarzio humbuckers.

Boasting set-neck construction, this Weddington Custom features traditional Les Paul-centric tonewoods including the heavily figured and carved two-piece quilted maple top capping a mahogany body, and a five-piece mahogany/maple neck with a bound ebony fingerboard. The DiMarzio humbuckers were designed specifically for this instrument and made in the USA. The DHB2 in the neck position is wound in the PAF camp, delivering warm, spongy lows, smooth treble articulation, and tailored midrange clarity. The DHB3 at the bridge is big and bold, wound much more aggressively, ideal for taking heavy gain, and the five-way pickup selector enables single coil spank when coil tapping the humbuckers at positions 2 and 4. This Weddington Custom weighs 9lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Faded Burst finish is designed to replicate a well-aged Sunburst, highlighting the deep figuring in the carved quilted maple top, and cosmetic wear is limited to faint buckle worming central to the back and a few small dings along the lower bout perimeter. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, and there is a scratch on the back of the neck profile carve behind the nut, only finish deep and buffed smooth.

The original brown tolex hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags.
