I bought this '96 Hamer USA Daytona NOS from a Hamer dealer in Illinois in 1997. The guitar is largely stock except for a missing backplate and custom pearloid Rio Grande Stelly and Tallboy pickups...the original Seymour Duncan APS1 pickups are included. It was professionally re-fretted with Dunlop jumbo stainless steel frets that appear unblemished and smooth as glass. The stock chrome Sperzel tuners were replaced with the brushed steel version without modification. The ding you see on the bottom edge occurred within a week of purchase :( That said, you'd otherwise be hard pressed to find a 30-year-old USA Daytona this clean. The original vintage white poly has oxidized to a beautiful antique ivory and you can feel a slight crease in the finish along the "skunk stripe" along the neck due to walnut shrinking at a different rate than the maple...it's common for a vintage guitar so I chose to leave it as-is. I've owned several USA Daytonas but kept this one for it's killer tone and light weight (just over 7 1/2 lbs). Ships in a serviceable Roadrunner rigid foam case.
