Here for sale we have a Fender Standard Jazz Bass in Midnight Blue finish. Made in Mexico in 1999, this bass consists of a Poplar body, a Maple neck, and a 20-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Chrome hardware, Standard Die-Cast tuners, and a set of Standard Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups. These pickups are wired to two volume controls, and a master tone control. The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the 'D' profile allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning, whilst the Gloss finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers, whilst the 9.5” radius and Medium Jumbo frets allow for ease of different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The double cutaway and contoured body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register, whilst also making longer durations of playing a comfortable experience.The tone of the Standard Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups are exactly what you would expect from such a traditional design, with a pleasing array of tonal options available. The single coil pickup in the bridge position delivers a vintage flavour with a snappy response and a defined top. The single coil in the neck position delivers a Fender ‘Thump’ which is both powerful and clear. Independent volume controls allow for the pickups to be blended together to unlock a palette of tonal options. No matter the settings each note across the entire fretboard is articulated and balanced with no muddiness in the lower registers and a punchy timbre across all notes. Light to mild indentations are present to all aspects of the headstock, the most apparent of these can be seen to the top and treble side edges. With this further mild indentations can be seen to the front face towards the top edge. Light delamination is present to the front face, this can be seen around the G tuning post and has not broken the finish.Neck: Overall very good condition. Lacquer over spray can be seen to the first fret of the fingerboard, this can be seen under direct light. Light indentations are present to the 6th fret of the fingerboard, these can be seen under close scrutiny and can not be felt in the playing position. Wear markings are present to the rear of the neck, these can be seen to the bass side 7th fret upwards where the wood beneath has been exposed from regular past use. The natural finish to the rear of the neck has been lightly polished to a gloss texture through past use, with this light indentations are also present to the rear of the neck across the register.Body: Overall good condition. Light to mild indentations are present to all aspects of the body, these most noticeable of these can be seen to the lower out edge, treble and bass side edges where the indentations have broken the finish with some lightly exposing the wood beneath. Mild scuff markings are present to all aspects of the body which can be seen under direct light, the most apparent of these are situated to the bass and treble side horn edges and to the center of the rear face. All aspects of the body display light to moderate scratching, the most prominent of these can be seen on the rear face near the belly carve where the base coat has been exposed.Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (3/16" hex) not included.Hardware: Overall good condition. A previous owner has replaced the pickguard with a mirrored Jazz pickguard, with this a crack has occurred near the bass side of the neck where material is missing, the original pickguard is not included. Light to mild tarnishing and oxidation is present to all aspects of the metal hardware, this is most apparent to the bridge plate, pickup height screws, tuning machines and pickup pole pieces.Structural: No concerns or issues to note.Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mmPlease be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.Strings on Guitar - 45-100Electrics: Fully functional.Case & AccessoriesNo case is provided with this guitar.
