I am offering a Sandberg California VS4 Ash Bass from 2021, a handcrafted 4-string electric bass from the German fine bass forge Sandberg with a beautifully grained, solid ash body (weighing only 3.9kg in total!), six-bolt maple neck with “C”neck profile and 39.5mm nut width, elegant maple fingerboard with black dot inlays, versatile Sandberg V-Style splitcoil pickup, long 864mm scale length, high-quality Sandberg machine head tuners and 4-piece Sandberg bridge in a brilliant natural satin finish in mint condition, including black Sandberg gigbag and professional setup with 50-105 Ernie Ball strings.

Since the mid-1980s, Holger Stonjek's team in Braunschweig has been building high-quality basses with innovative features and superb craftsmanship. The electronics of the basses were developed in collaboration with Herford-based bass amplifier specialists Glockenklang, an intelligent 6-point neck construction was designed, and proprietary components such as a flexibly adjustable bridge and weight-optimized tuners were created. No wonder Sandberg is one of the most popular European bass builders today!

This Sandberg California VS4 is their own interpretation of the Precision Bass in a classic 4-string version with an exquisitely figured ash body and a maple neck in classic bolt-on construction, including a maple fingerboard with 22 medium frets.

In terms of sound, the top-notch Sandberg V-Style split singlecoil pickup, together with the classic passive electronics, delivers distinctive sounds that suit almost every playing technique in almost every musical genre. The bass successfully produces warm, bluesy vintage tones, groovy funk bass lines, and powerful modern rock sounds with higher output, making it an absolute all-rounder.

In addition, the instrument features a modern and functional Sandberg bridge with four individually adjustable string saddles and high-quality open Sandberg tuners in vintage style.
