Steinberger TRANSTREM Transposing Tremolo assembly, Made in USA, original OEM unit, includes TT trem arm, stainless steel TT tuning adjustment Tool, hex wrenches, (2) sets of calibrated TT strings, Phillips head mounting screws.
This TransTrem (TT) unit was removed from an Ed Roman EB-1 guitar, so no Steinbergers were harmed in the offering of this part for sale. The open tremolo spot on the EB-1 body will be filled with either a JCustom fixed bridge or an aftermarket S-trem style tremolo in an effort to make the guitar more affordable.
Cosmetically, the black finish on this TransTrem assembly shows its age and gives the tremolo a vintage look. The aged appearance of the paint is reflected in the pricing of this kit. Mechanically, this TT assembly transposed correctly within 5 Hz as expected before it was removed from the EB-1 guitar. The brass rollers on the 6 saddles spin freely, although the finish on the outer surfaces shows oxidation from age.
A 0.5 mm thick piece of brass sheet metal was slipped in between the end saddle and the saddle-row locking set screw. This piece fills in the 0.5 mm gap that exists between the row of the 6 saddles and the TT base. It also gives the set screw something to really bite into, while protecting the side of the end saddle from pits and indentations as well. This TT assembly had been sitting on the EB-1 guitar essentially unused for the past 10+ years.
This vintage TT assembly comes with the necessary installation hardware, a set of 8 Phillips head wood screws (6 for mounting plus 2 spares). The unit will bolt directly onto any Steinberger GM, GP, or GL guitar body with TransTrem or S-Trem routing.
The kit also includes (2) sets of calibrated TransTrem strings, (1) set of 9's and (1) sets of 10's.
The GHS Boomers EXTRA LIGHT string set is comprised of string sizes 0.009, 0.011, 0.016, 0.024w, 0.032w, 0.042w.
The D'Addario ESXL110 string set is comprised of string sizes 0.010, 0.013, 0.017, 0.026w, 0.036w, 0.046w. The sealed bag containing these strings was part of a multi-pack, and the outer colored-cardboard packaging is not included. A picture of the outer packaging can be viewed by doing a search on the D'Addario ESXL110 set.

Please research all aspects of this part or piece of gear via internet searches, YouTube videos, Facebook groups, brick-and-mortar music stores, musician’s blogs, manufacturer’s demo clips, etc. It is your responsibility to fully understand the details, pros, cons, and particulars surrounding this part or piece of gear before finalizing the sale from your Reverb shopping cart. Even though this TT unit is in GOOD and functional condition, the assembly is being sold as-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Message me with any questions prior to purchasing this item and consider all sales to be final as stated in the Reverb listing.
This shop does not offer a 'try it first' option. If you buy this part or piece of gear and for some reason do not like its sound, operation, functionality, fit, feel, finish, coloration, or whatever else, it will be your turn to list the item as being for sale from your Reverb shop. By purchasing this item, you are confirming that you agree and accept all the terms of sale outlined in this listing.
NOTE: The Reverb ‘Make Offer’ button was intentionally de-selected when this listing was created. Pricing is set to what seems fair and reasonable based on other similar items listed or historical sales amounts. Pricing is based on the piece of gear itself, its availability in the open market, and its condition. Prices may be adjusted up or down periodically depending on the market. Please do not contact the shop with offers of less than the current listed price. Additionally, the shop is in the process of ‘thinning the herd’ in preparation for an upcoming out-of-state move and therefore is not able to entertain offers of trades either.
This item may be listed elsewhere and will be sold to the first buyer who purchases it. If it is purchased on another platform or via a private sale, I will make every effort to end this listing immediately afterward so someone else doesn't purchase it here when it is actually no longer available.
Shipping will be to the continental lower 48 USA states only, Hawaii and Alaska excluded. Per Reverb's shipping rules, the package will be issued a shipping label within 3 days (72 hours) after the time of purchase. At this point, the gear is considered shipped by the Reverb system, even if the package has not been scanned in by the courier or physically loaded onto a truck. Buyers will be notified as soon as the package is physically in the hands of the courier. A tracking number should become active on the Reverb website within 24 hours after the drop-off time.
Smaller boxes containing parts, Euro rack modules, or effects pedals can usually be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. Larger boxes containing rack-mounted gear, guitars, or basses normally ship via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. Both couriers give estimates of up to 5 DAYS in transit after receiving the package. The day the package is dropped off or picked up by the courier is not included in this estimate, so this adds 1 MORE DAY to the total shipping estimate.
Doing the math, 3 DAYS to ship + 1 DAY for pickup or processing at the courier's hub + 5 DAYS in transit + 1 Sunday = 10 DAYS total. Although purchased items have made it to their new owners within 7 DAYS, it can take 10 DAYS or MORE from the time of purchase for a package to reach the destination address. How long the delivery takes is dependent on multiple factors, including the distance from Loveland CO to the destination address, courier slowdowns due to adverse weather conditions, unexpected courier delays, and mistakes made by the courier while the package is in transit. By purchasing this piece of gear, you are acknowledging the facts stated above and confirming that you are accepting the estimates provided therein regarding the delivery of your package.
Reverb Safe Shipping FULL COVERAGE insurance on parts is 3.0% of the selling price, which is $31.50 of the total $50.00 shipping cost. The remaining $18.50 covers moving the box from point A to point B, the transportation part of the deal. Per Reverb's shipping insurance rules, a signature will be required for delivery.
All parts and pieces of gear will be professionally packaged inside a sturdy cardboard box prior to shipping, with ample space and padding surrounding the item. Any open spaces will be filled with Styrofoam peanuts, cornstarch peanuts, Kraft paper, foam, and/or bubble wrap for maximum protection of the part or piece of gear.
