Frankie restored this 6-piece Leedy Ludwig set with the same passion and attention to detail as is witnessed in his now legendary drumming. The set looks and sounds stunning.

Here's what we know about this set. Frankie started with 1950s Leedy-Ludwig shells and refinished the set in red glass glitter finish with and white painted interiors. The restoration was a top quality job. It has everything you's expect from someone as meticulous as Frankie.

This set includes a 24"x14" Bass Drum with clip on spurs, 20"x16" Floor Tom, 16"x16" Floor Tom, 13"x9" Rack Tom, 12"x8" Rack Tom and 14"x5.5" Matching 6 Lug Snare Drum.

There are no extra holes in the original 3-ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany shells with reinforcement rings. All of the clips for the straight hoops are intact and un-cracked. It's possible that some of the original clips may have been replaced. All of the other parts are correct original parts in excellent condition. The red glass glitter finish is smooth and seams are tight. All of the drums except the snare are repainted with white paint. The paint job is top notch! No runs, uneven spots or messy edges. Edges are clean and smooth. The hardware on the snare and 20" floor tom are nickel. The bass and other three toms are chrome. The 12 and 13" toms mount to the bass drum hoops with era correct tom holders. The badges on all drums are held in with grommets that remain straight on the inside and have not been hammered over.

A pair of Frankie's signature model Vic Firth stick are included with the set.

The 20x16" floor tom has one mismatched leg. I would consider selling the 20x16" floor tom separately.

This set sounds thunderous. Even with the bass drum tuned wide open, it still has a super focused punch. This set can be set up in a variety configurations.
