1967 Hofner 459 violin bodied electric Guitar.
The 459 is the 6 string sister to the McCartney Base, this one was originally bought by a Canadian serviceman while on peace keeping duties in Cypress and returned with him after his tour. I bought it in the 90’s from its second owner.
I only played it a few times but honestly I was never good enough to do this guitar justice so stuck to a Fender for practice however I did let a pro friend play it and it was beyond impressive. It has been stored in my bedroom in a custom case with extra padding and with the strings loosened off to preserve the neck.
The present condition is excellent and it is very hard to fine one in better condition. It is all original, including the pegs and they show no appreciable wear. Very little fret wear and all mother of pearl is super well preserved with no cracks. There is only one chip and that is on the top edge of the headstock. The wood only shows a couple of fine cracks, but the least of any I have seen. The original finish is as outstanding as the workmanship in it.
